Scottish Room

The Scottish Room represents the history of the Scottish people, and it shows the names of Scottish people who have contributed to world knowledge. Quotations from the 14th century poem, "The Brus," are carved above each door and in the top of the aumbry, or cabinet, at the rear of the room. Bell, Lord Kelvin, Watt, and Fleming are among the scientific people among the engraved names. Windows show the crests of Universities of Edinburgh, Aberdeen, St. Andrews, and Glasgow.
