Philippine Room

The Philippine Room is based upon a type of house known as a bahay na bato, a house of stone. The Quema House in Luzon is the main inspiration.

The Room collects the many streams of cultural influence different groups of people have developed and brought to the Philippines, and a celebration of a natural bounty is shown with the reproductions of 18th century botanical paintings, images of a native alphabet, and paintings of ancient artifacts. The four oldest universities are shown by their seals on the mahogany chalkboard covers.
