Korean Heritage Room

No tours of the Nationality and Heritage Rooms will be available on Sunday, March 31.  The rooms will be closed and unavailable to the public.

The Korean Heritage Room is inspired by the Hall of Enlightenment at Sungkyunkwan Academy, of the 14th century. A place for scholars and princes to learn at, this is one of the few Nationality Rooms based upon an academic space. The importance of learning is shown with the Four Friends—tools with which to communicate by writing.

Modern, intergrated digital technology continues this theme. Folding doors (pamnjamum doors) separate the seating area from the alcove and give the impression of leaving the classroom to go to the outside campus of the Sungkyunkwan.
