Nikitiny

Sergey Nikitin as a composer and the singing duo of Tatiana and Sergey Nikitin have played a key role in establishing the genre of poetic folk song in Russia and in the countries of the former Soviet Union. Three generations of listeners in Russia and abroad have heard the Nikitins' songs while growing up. The Nikitins are well-known not only as a musical duo that puts poetry to music, but, quite simply, as Russian cultural icons. Among other things, in 1980, the duo wrote and performed the soundtrack for the Oscar winning Russian film "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears."
